A balanced diet and taking vitamins are things that need to be done when Mommy really needs a multivitamin intake after a pregnancy consultation to the doctor. There are several intake of minerals and vitamins which are good for fetal development, and for the health of Mommy and the fetus. Here are some types of vitamins which can be consumed by pregnant women :
Vitamin K
Vitamin K can be consumed to reduce nausea and vomiting during pregnancy; vitamin C and K can be consumed simultaneously. When Mommy wants a source of vitamin K, it can be obtained from spinach, tomato, egg yolk, and strawberry.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C in supplement form can be consumed by pregnant women as much as 5 mg and 25 mg per day. If Mommy wants natural vitamin C, Mommy may consume papaya, orange, broccoli, radish, and watercress.
Vitamin D
Mommy requires an increase in vitamin D during pregnancy. Vitamin D is recommended to be consumed as much as 400 IU per day. Vitamin D can also be obtained naturally from seafood and milk.
Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 can be additional vitamins needed in the second trimester of pregnancy. Vitamin B12 is recommended to be consumed around 0.2 mcg per day. Vitamin B12 may be taken naturally from sheep, mackerel, crab, shellfish, milk, cheese, and tofu.
Keep in mind, too much vitamin during pregnancy can be toxic to the fetus and may harm the fetus, therefore you should consult your doctor first to get a dose of multivitamins and supplements which would not endanger the condition of Mommy and the fetus
