Do check beforehand

Be sure to do a check-up to a gynecologist before traveling and make sure the results of the checks are good. If possible, have travel insurance to protect your pregnancy from the various possibilities that can happen.

Timing

If you are traveling by plane, it is not recommended to take flight when pregnant (first trimester), because in the first 3 months, your condition is still weak and you often have morning sickness (nausea and vomiting).

The best moment to travel is during the period of the 14th and 28th weeks of pregnancy, if there are no complications in the womb. Find out what health care facilities available at your destination, in case if you need urgent medical attention.

Prioritize Your Comfort

We recommend using equipment that is comfortable when traveling, such as:

  1. Choose footwear that is comfortable and safe. Use proper shoes or sandals with flat heels and slightly loose.
  2. Use comfortable clothes. Choose fabrics that can absorb sweat so you do not overheat.
  3. Bring a small pillow when traveling. Place a small pillow in the chair where you sit.
  4. Put one or two pillows under the foot, under the belly and behind the back. Normally, the back and rear waist are easily sore during pregnancy.

Bring Healthy Food and Drink

Do not let your stomach empty. Prepare yourself a healthy and nutritious meal. No need to bring of heavy foods such as rice, complete with side dishes. Just bring some healthy snacks such as boiled carrots, bananas, apples, nuts, dried fruit or organic cheese to meet your nutritional needs while travelling.
